Bill Boyd, inducted 1981
Hailed as one of the best 5-Card Stud players of all time, and a consistent
champion of this event at WSOP. Deceased.
Tom Abdo, inducted 1982
Suffered a heart attack at the poker table, and died that night, intending to

Joe Bernstein, inducted 1983
A sharp road gambler, and known as a dapper dresser at the poker table. Deceased.
Murph Harrold, inducted 1984
Deemed as one of the best Deuce-to-Seven Draw, or Kansas City Lowball, players

Walter Clyde "Puggy" Pearson, inducted 1987
WSOP world champion of 1973. A great 7-Card Stud player, noted for his aggressive
style and erratic temper. Lives in Las Vegas.
Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson, inducted 1988
Held the 1976 and 1977 WSOP world titles, first player to win $1 million in
tournament play. His book, "Super/System: How I Made Over $1,000,000 Playing
Poker," is an acclaimed study of his high stakes poker. Lives in Las Vegas.
Jack "Treetop" Straus, inducted 1988
1982 WSOP world champion, noted for spinning poker yarns. Deceased.
Fred "Sarge" Ferris, inducted 1989
1980 deuce-to-seven draw WSOP world champion, who gained notoriety in 1983 when
$46,000 worth of chips were seized from him by the Internal Revenue Service
during a high-stakes gameat the Horseshoe. Deceased.
Benny Binion, inducted 1990
The man behind the Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas. Inaugurated the World Series
of Poker in 1970 as a gambler's convention at the resort. Deceased.
David Edward "Chip" Reese, inducted 1991
One of the best all-around high-stakes players. The youngest Hall of Famer,
enshrined at age 40. Lives in Las Vegas.
Thomas Austin "Amarillo Slim" Preston, inducted
1992
WSOP world champion of 1972. Sought out publicity, unlike most gamblers of his
time, by appearing in national talk shows post-winning. Lives in Texas.
"Gentleman Jack" Keller, inducted 1993
1984 WSOP world champion, and one of the most consistent poker players. Lives
in Mississippi.
Julius Oral "Little Man" Popwell, inducted 1996
A gambler of near-mythical stature, who had played against the likes of Johnny
Moss and Henry Green in the 1940s and 1950s. Deceased.
Roger Moore, inducted 1997
Entered his first WSOP in 1974 and has not missed one since. 1994 WSOP $5000
7-Card Stud world champion. WSOP lifetime money earnings: $400,378.
Stu Ungar, inducted 2001
One of the few regarded as the greatest poker players ever, and deemed as the
greatest No Limit Hold'em player of all time. Held three WSOP world titles,
and won ten major No Limit Hold'em championship events out of roughly only 30
he actually played.
Lyle Berman, inducted 2002
Three-time WSOP winner (Limit Omaha in 1989, No-Limit Hold’em in 1992,
and Deuce-to-Seven Draw in 1994). Finished second at WSOP four times.
Johnny Chan, inducted 2002
Back-to-back WSOP world champion in 1987 and 1988, and ranks all-time first
