At the limit Hold'em games, the view flop percentage in full $15/$30 ring games had been in the 60's well up to the 80's until early 2004; the recent influx of more seasoned players pulled it down to some 40% to 55% at the higher-stakes tables. Launched in 2004 were no limit and pot limit tournaments, with upcoming no limit and pot limit ring games promising to add more game coverage. Other than the unattractive software, Pacific Poker has great high-cash and frequent promotions and e-mail support.
Poker Tournaments and Traffic
Pacific Poker is a favorite poker room of Hold'em players, with traffic mostly concentrated at the Hold'em tournaments and ring games. Tournament traffic is 1,400 to 1,700 at peak hours. Ring game traffic is 1,000 to 1,200 at peak hours, at least 85% to 95% at the Hold'em tables.
Poker Games
Pacific Poker offers Hold'em, Omaha hi and hi-lo, and 7-Card Stud games. It only has fixed limit ring games; no limit and pot limit ring games are coming very soon. There are 1-on-1 tables, and micro-limit tables down to $0.05/$0.10. Maximum limit is $15/$30 in all games, except in 1-on-1 ring games with only $3/$6.
Poker Software and Graphics
With juicy, high-action games and excellent player promotions, Pacific Poker is the list-topping poker room for Hold'em poker. But its poker software is below average. The software has undergone enhancements but is yet to be at par with the best on speed and quality of graphics. A player is only allowed to play at only one table at once, and there is no note-taking support as well. On the upside, the software does offer special features for player moves, and detailed lobby information on view flop percentages and the like, plus a statistical history of hands played. The rake is standard and the games are some of the easiest to win.
